2011 VM Section Election Results

We are pleased to announce the winners of the Visual Materials Section 2011 elections. Congratulations to the winners!

The Members-at-large election resulted in a tie.

The Steering committee had discussed at the midwinter meeting the possibility of increasing the number of at-large members in order to broaden section membership's involvement in the section, but believed a change of bylaws would be required before we could accomplish that objective.

While seeking ways to resolve the tie, Brian Doyle in the SAA office provided references to SAA governing documents that would enable us to adjust the size of the steering committee without changing the section's bylaws. The steering committee decided to act upon Doyle's findings and appoint both Eason and Mastrovita to the steering committee. Yet to be determined at the annual meeting is who will serve the two-year term and and the three year term.

One final note on positions. Anne Salsich will complete the third, and last year, of her Member-at-large term.
